Hand Made in USA. It may only be known to a select few but Intense is different from the crowd. We do not just pick up a phone and order our frames. We manufacture them all here at the Intense Cycles factory in Temecula, California.
Every frame is handicrafted, in-house, with the precision and love only a true arrtisan can appreciate. Other companies will pay other factories to make their "American Made" frames but this chain allows for too many weak links. Here at Intense Cycles we insure that our frames are built by an intense family member each step of the way, we call this quality control. If you do not believe it, come see for yourself.
The VPP (or Virtual Pivot Point) is a linkage designed bike frame that is built to activate the suspension differently depending on what inputs the suspension has received. The "Virtual Pivot Point" system owned by Santa Cruz Bicycles, Inc is protected by four US patents, three of which were originally issued to Outland Bicycles. The four patents cover a specific linkage configurations that are designed to aid the pedaling performance of a rear suspension bike without negatively affecting the overall bump absorption capabilities. The Intense Spider and other models introduced in 2001 popularized "dual short link" type suspension systems, but have the unique characteristic of having links that rotate in opposite directions.
